New England Dance Festival is a four day dance festival featuring Country, West Coast Swing and Ballroom dancing, with social dancing, workshops, UCWDC competition, WSDC competition and a Saturday evening show. Social dancers and competitors are welcome. It is a fully sanctioned UCWDC & WSDC Event.
The event is held each year at the Boston Marriott Newton, in Newton Massachusetts, right outside of Boston.
The event is held the first full weekend in August. In 2027 it will be August 5-8, 2027.
Yes! The New England area has a vibrant social dance scene and we welcome dancers of all three genres! The weekend starts off with a Thursday night kick-off dance followed by Friday and Saturday evening social dances. Friday & Saturday each style has it’s own ballroom – Country, West Coast Swing & Ballroom! Enjoy one style or float between all three rooms.
No you do not, there are plenty of things do and enjoy at NEDF without competing! You can social dance, take workshops, see the show – there is so much fun to be had!
If you are coming to the event to enjoy the social dancing, workshops, WSDC Jack & Jills, or UCWDC Line Dance competition you do not need a dance partner! If you are competing in the UCWDC Couples or Pro/Am competition than you do need to pre-register with a professional or amateur partner.
Yes, beginner dancers are more than welcome to attend the event.
NEDF offers Competitions in Country Partner & Line Dance and WSDC Jack & Jills. We offer social dancing and workshops in Country, West Coast Swing & Ballroom.
Yes! NEDF brings in top Pros from all over the U.S. and Canada to offer tons of amazing workshops in West Coast Swing.
Yes, NEDF is a fully sanctioned WSDC event. We offer Jack & Jill competitions, Strictly Swing, Workshops, Social Dances & Intensives.
Yes, NEDF is a fully sanctioned UCWDC Worlds Qualifying event. We offer Pro/Am, Couples & Line Dance competitions.
Yes, NEDF offers a variety of things for ballroom dancers to enjoy. This includes multiple workshops throughout the weekend, a room dedicated to ballroom social dancing Friday & Saturday nights and a spectacular Saturday night show to enjoy.
Yes, NEDF offers single Day Passes for each day of the event. You can find additional information on our day and weekend passes here.
NEDF is held each year at the Boston Marriott Newton. We offer a discounted room rate with the hotel. Additional details can be found on our Hotel information page.
NEDF promotes a fun, casual atmosphere for the weekend. Many attendees wear jeans or slacks and nice casual tops. We recommend bringing a light sweater as sometimes the ballrooms can be a little chilly with the A/C going before you get dancing! Dance shoes/boots/sneakers are also highly encouraged.
NEDF offers a Thursday night kick-off dance and social dancing Friday & Saturday evenings at the event. Thursday night is a Country/Ballroom/WCS mix in the main ballroom. Friday & Saturday each style has its own ballroom for you to enjoy.
